I had the great pleasure of working on the weapons for Trench Tales, a game being developed by my friend Alexander Ponomarev (https://www.artstation.com/panatoman).
I was so drawn to the world and visuals, and I've had so much fun designing for the game.
Trench Tales is a gripping third-person shooter horror game set in a dark, alternative world inspired by the aesthetics of WWI and WWII. Kind of Dark Souls + WWI.
I designed the shotguns for the game. Each shotgun is made up of parts that can mix with all the other shotgun parts, making it a fully modular weapons system.
This is the first of these Shotguns.
I wanted the design to be clean, readable, and really brutal. It had to follow the animation constraints and gameplay constraints provided by the developer, while also feeling like a pretty grounded weapons.
